QINETIC Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

QINETIC is an iOS gym and workout tracking application developed by Ivan Aguilar and Santiago Chávez under QuackQuick, an independent software project. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data when you use the QINETIC mobile application and the QuackQuick website at quackquick.org. By using QINETIC, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide:

• Account Information: your email address and display name. You may create an account with an email and password, or by using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In.
  • Sign in with Apple — Apple provides us with your name and an email address. If you choose Apple's Hide My Email feature, we receive a private relay address rather than your real email, and we never have access to your actual address.
  • Google Sign-In — Google provides us with your name and email address.
  We do not receive or store your password when you sign in through Apple or Google.
• Workout Data: exercise names, muscle group tags, sets, reps, weights, bar weights, and personal notes you write.
• Session Data: when you use the live session feature, we record the start time, end time, and accumulated active duration of your workout sessions, along with the sets logged during them.
• Body Weight: you may optionally record your body weight, used to calculate training volume for bodyweight exercises. This is health-related information and we treat it accordingly: it is stored only in your account, never shared, and never used for advertising or profiling.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically:

• Technical and Diagnostic Data: our backend provider records standard server-side request logs (timestamps, IP address, and request metadata) as part of normal operation and abuse prevention. Basic device information such as iOS version may be captured in crash and error reports used for debugging.

We do not use third-party advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App
• Save, sync, and display your workout history, sessions, streaks, and notes
• Calculate training volume and progress statistics
• Authenticate your identity and keep your account secure
• Send transactional emails such as password resets and account verification
• Respond to support requests
• Diagnose bugs and improve features

We do NOT sell personal information. We do NOT share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do NOT use your data to train machine learning models.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using Supabase, with:

• Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) for all network communication
• Encryption at rest for database and file storage
• Row-Level Security (RLS) policies enforced at the database level, so your data is only accessible to your own authenticated account
• Authentication tokens stored on your device in the iOS Keychain, protected with AES-256 encryption

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to enable device-level security on your iPhone.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following service providers. Each processes data only as necessary to deliver its function.

We do not share personal data with these services beyond what is necessary to operate core features.

6. Data Location & International Transfers

Our infrastructure providers operate data centres in the United States and other countries. If you access QINETIC from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own. By using the App, you consent to this transfer.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account, your profile, exercises, logged sets, sessions, and notes are permanently removed from our production database. Residual copies may persist in encrypted infrastructure backups for up to 30 days, after which they are automatically purged. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke the associated Apple authentication token at the time of deletion.

8. Children's Privacy

QINETIC is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights & Choices

• Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the App. This does not require contacting us.
• Access, correction, and portability. You may request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate information, or receive your data in a portable format by contacting us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
• Withdraw optional data. Body weight is optional. You can remove it at any time from your profile settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We honour these requests regardless of your location.

We will never discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where the change is significant, through an in-app notice. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
